LONG GONE HEROES

Long Gone Heroes is a 2024 American action-thriller film written and directed by John Swab, based on a story by Santiago Manes Moreno. The film stars Frank Grillo, Josh Hutcherson, Eden Brolin, Melissa Leo, and Andy García, and was produced by Perrenque Media Lab in Colombia. The plot follows a former soldier who assembles a team of mercenaries to rescue his niece, kidnapped by a drug lord in Venezuela. Distributed by LionsGate, the film was released in the United States in September 2024.

DAMNED

In this film directed by filmmaker Victor Garcia, we are introduced to David Reynolds (Peter Fanicelli). David is a young widower who is about to marry for the second time with his new fiancée, Lauren (Sophia Myles), and who finds himself trying to make peace with his rebellious daughter, the fruit of his previous marriage. To do so, the couple sets out for Bogota, intending to take her with them on the return trip to the wedding in the United States. But while they are on their way to the Medellin area, they suffer a car accident, and so they must take refuge in a gloomy hotel where Felipe (Gustavo Angarita) lives, a strange and lonely character who will remind them that appearances can be deceiving, that everyone (as incredible as it may seem) can hide terrible secrets inside… or simply hide them in the basement of their house.

Titi, Carlitos, Betún, Jhon and Pinky, five children between the ages of 4 and 12, work at traffic lights in Bogotá cleaning windshields, sleep in sewers, are chased like cats after mice, and daily face the anxiety of not knowing if the another day they are alive. The Moles except Titi are burned while they sleep; Titi begins a new path, she meets Ratona, a 15-year-old girl, her body is burned; Titi and Mouse embark on a journey between the living and the dead, while the Moles follow them without realizing that they have died. Titi and Ratona will have to face tragedy again, which has an outstanding debt with destiny. 

BANG

Roberto and Laura are a married couple who have a plan that they are going to implement in a hotel room. However, Laura’s happiness for her release and the sadness of Roberto, who gives in out of love, ends up changing the course of the initial plan.

ANA ROSA

Ana Rosa was a pianist and music was the only thing that broke through the wall of silence.
They never talked about her in the family, not my father, not my psychiatrist uncle, his children. But they told me many times that I looked like him. Then, that she was “crazy.” That they had performed a lobotomy on her… most of the lobotomies in the world were performed on women…
I learned later that it was his eldest son who suggested this treatment, before he became the eminent “anti-psychiatrist” I so admired.
The only photo I have of her, who died shortly before I was born, is a photo of an identity card. The rest is a mystery that I want to reveal: I want to know who it was and why they committed that brutal act on her.
Today the story of Ana Rosa haunts me because it is tragic, because it talks about women, about the functioning of the brain, and because through it one can understand something of the relationship between psychiatry and society.

BRIZNA

Marcos communicates with the dead, his lot is the last piece of land that Lainez lacks to build the development. Laura, a journalist, is the only one who finds out that the lot is a cemetery without tombstones. Laura helps Marcos to confront Lainez. Little by little, she is captivated by Marcos’s mission: guide the dead out of limbo. Laura has the urge to follow in her mentor’s footsteps, but terrified, she runs away. He returns, and when he does Marcos has been tortured by Lainez’s men. Laura fights to save him but he dies. She inherits not only the land, she happens to have all of Marcos’ powers and continues with her preternatural mission.
