ANA ROSA
Ana Rosa was a pianist and music was the only thing that broke through the wall of silence.
They never talked about her in the family, not my father, not my psychiatrist uncle, his children. But they told me many times that I looked like him. Then, that she was “crazy.” That they had performed a lobotomy on her… most of the lobotomies in the world were performed on women…
I learned later that it was his eldest son who suggested this treatment, before he became the eminent “anti-psychiatrist” I so admired.
The only photo I have of her, who died shortly before I was born, is a photo of an identity card. The rest is a mystery that I want to reveal: I want to know who it was and why they committed that brutal act on her.
Today the story of Ana Rosa haunts me because it is tragic, because it talks about women, about the functioning of the brain, and because through it one can understand something of the relationship between psychiatry and society.
SOFIA Y EL TERCO
Sofía is a 75-year-old lady who lives in a cold and quiet town in the Andes and has never seen the sea. For many years, her husband has promised her to go to the Caribbean, but reasons always arise that force her to postpone the dream trip. However, there comes a time when, thanks to the insistence of a friend, she decides to start the trip alone, leaving her husband at home.
BANG
Roberto and Laura are a married couple who have a plan that they are going to implement in a hotel room. However, Laura’s happiness for her release and the sadness of Roberto, who gives in out of love, ends up changing the course of the initial plan.
LA VOZ MÁGICA DE EDITH
In the most important musical reality show in Latin America, Edith (7 years old), displaced and motherless, discovers that singing has the power to drive away the demons that influence people. Edith will have to fight against the jury Stella who has manipulated her to sing in favor of Evil incarnate.
TREMOR
The murder of a puto triggers the most important case in Raquel’s career. While the clues of a series of sexual murders are pointing towards Agustina, a powerful congresswoman running for the presidency, she, Raquel, cannot avoid satisfying a perversion that bends her. Suddenly, a test is uncovered that reveals the past and confronts Raquel and her sister Renata with the sexual abuse they were subjected to as girls and the lurid triangle that intertwines them with the congresswoman. Betrayal, lust, hiding and death feed the driving force of this psychological thriller that teaches us that there are marks in life that are impossible to erase.
